Table of Contents

Hypoallergenic dog foods are easy to find these days. Organic hypoallergenic dog food, however, is not. While “clean-eating” is taking the human food world by storm it seems that pet food manufacturers haven’t quite caught up yet. I was going to write an article all about the highest rated organic foods out there for dogs with allergies!  I still am. Sort of… Well, keep reading. You’ll see.

Organic Hypoallergenic Dog Foods – The Highest Rated, Thank Goodness

Affiliate links included below. Thanks for your support!

I say thank goodness they’re the highest rated because they’re the only ones! As I mentioned above,  organic hypoallergenic dog food is actually really difficult to find! Oh sure, you can find regular hypoallergenic food. You can even easily find organic food. But when you throw those two criteria together, it becomes a recipe for a good old-fashioned quest for the holy grail.

Call me Sir Foodsalot, because I just came back from an epic quest to find a hypoallergenic dog food that is also organic. It definitely took some digging.

Castor & Pollux

Castor & Pollux seems to have the market cornered on organic hypoallergenic dog food. They have a variety of flavors in both grain-free and limited ingredient formulas. Every type I found consistently had an average user rating of 4 to 5 stars. Both of their lines, Natural Ultramix and Organix, feature grain-free options.

  • Organix Flavors:
    Chicken & Brown Rice
    Chicken & Potato
    Lamb & Peas
    Salmon & Peas
    Chicken & Vegetable
    Turkey & Vegetable
  • Natural Ultramix Flavors:
Duck, Sweet Potato, & Whole Peas
    Salmon
    Chicken & Sweet Potato
Chicken Thigh, Fresh Carrots, & Sweet Potato
Beef Trip & Chicken, Apples & Green Peas
Chicken & Bacon with Fresh Tomatoes
Venison, White Potato, & Fresh Cut Carrots

Newman’s Own Organics

Newman’s Own Organics has a few flavors of grain-free food. As you all know by now from reading my other articles, grain-free and hypoallergenic are almost synonymous with each other, which is why their Organics line makes the cut. Their products have excellent user reviews, averaging between 4 1/2 and 5 stars.

  • Newman’s Own Organics Flavors
     Beef & Liver
    Grain-Free 95% Chicken
    Grain-Free 95% Chicken & Liver
    Grain-Free 95% Turkey
    Grain-Free Liver
    Grain-Free 95% Turkey & Liver

And That’s It

I have Googled and Googled and Googled, and these two brands seem to be the only hypoallergenic dog foods that are also organic. In a way, it’s helpful. You certainly aren’t going to be overwhelmed with choices. Plus, they’ve all received very high ratings, which is a good thing.

As time goes on, and organic becomes more and more commonplace, I’m sure we’ll see more organic hypoallergenic dog foods. In the meantime, you have a couple of brands and several flavors of organic hypoallergenic dog foods to choose from, and they’re all well liked. You should be able to find one your dog enjoys.

Do you know of any organic hypoallergenic dog foods that I missed? Please share in the comments!
