Hypoallergenic Dogs That Don’t Shed
Maltese: So cute in their white silky coats, and thats is where it stays, on their bodies! They are playful, fun family dogs, that love to play games. Hide toys under the couch and he will go and find them! These hypoallergenic dogs are great for apartment living as they do not require much outdoor exercise. Just because he is small, do not treat him like he is helpless, you will end up with a very attached and very bratty dog.
Shih Tzu: Loyal, friendly and fun sized, the only shedding you will see from this little dog is when you brush him. You won’t find any evidence of him laying on the couch while you are at work! You do have to commit to grooming him though, or he will become a matted mess. He is also another that does not require much outdoor exercise, so he is a great choice if you have small living quarters or no back yard.
Kerry Blue Terrier: You might know this dog as an Irish Blue. They have been bred for years as a working dog doing things such as herding, hunting pests and guarding. This is a great watch dog for your family! Don’t be fooled by the puppies black coat, it will turn blue around the time the pup turns 2 years old. Their hair resembles that of human hair and does not shed.
Labradoodle: A new breed of hypoallergenic dogs, compared to all the others, this was a crossbreed that started making his appearance in the 1980s. He is a cross between a Labrador Retriever and a miniature Poodle, which makes him a great addition to any family. He has the temperament of the Labrador and the coat of the Poodle, making him non-shedding!
Yorkshire Terrier: Affectionately known as a Yorkie, they are small but they don’t think so! They do require grooming to be sure they avoid getting mats in their long hair. They make great rodent dogs as well. They will let you know if you have mice in your house! He is also great with other pets, so if you have cats or other dogs and want to bring this one into the family, he will do just fine.
Any of these hypoallergenic dogs above sound like a good match to you? Some require more grooming than others based on the length of their hair. You just have to decide what you want to want to handle, how much grooming care you want to give.
