This dog news story about a little girl’s wish for a dog finally coming true will absolutely melt your heart! Seriously, it will be the best video you watch all day. It was a six six-year, but Colette Francisco finally got the birthday present she always wanted. Colette, from Town and Country, Missouri, has been asking her parents for a puppy since she was 3 years old.

Finally, on her 9th birthday, he dreams finally came true and let me tell you, she was one excited little girl. Her mother, Michelle, picked her up from art camp on July 31, 2016 and told Colette that they were going to celebrate her birthday with cake and ice cream. But instead, they drove to the dog breeder’s house and Michelle told Colette to sit down and close her eyes.

Wish, Granted: Little Girl Finally Gets Her Puppy

Michelle placed the Japanese breed Shiba Inu puppy in her arms. When she opened her eyes, her first emotion was shock, as she obviously wasn’t expecting the puppy. Then, she freaked out in total excitement and says, “Tell me this is not a dream.” Her mother told her the puppy was hers and Colette bursts into tears and overcome with emotion says, “I got a dog! Oh my God! Oh my gosh, I’m, so happy. It’s the best birthday present in the world.” Colette immediately named her new friend Wasabi, which is a spicy Japanese horseradish.

Michelle Francisco told the Huffington Post, “Colette was just overcome with emotion. Everything from pure elation to shock. She has been wanting a Shiba Inu since she was three years old and I think it was almost too much for her.” She added, “Colette talks about Wasabi daily and wears a Shiba Inu locket necklace around her neck. We’ve already made multiple trips to pet boutiques so she can browse the aisles and plot out her future puppy accessory purchases.”

A little about the Shiba Inu: The Shiba Inu is the smallest of Japan’s six native dog breeds. They have a life span of 12-15 and was first recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1992. This breed of dogs is known to be fearless, confident, keen, alert, faithful and charming. The Shiba Inu stands a maximum height of 1 foot, 5 inches tall at their shoulder and weighs about 17-23 pounds.
