Is the FURminator worth the money?  I know many people who actually have decided that they do not want to be dog owners strictly because of the shedding involved.  I am sure you have friends like that as well. They assume that they’re going to end up covered in dog hair!   All dogs shed, it is just a matter of how much.  The FURminator might be the answer to your shedding problem (actually, it sounds like it is the answer to your shedding problem!)  If you have not heard of it, check it out now!

What is the FURminator?

If you love your dog (which I am sure you do) but you’re not crazy about the shedding (which I am sure you are not), then you should look into this professional grade grooming tool.  If I had a long haired dog, I would totally get a FURminator!  It was designed by a groomer, so you know it is a professional quality tool.  If you have a fur baby with a thick coat, you are going to want to try this out.  That undercoat can be hard to get when you groom your dog at home, the FURminator will help with that!  Think about the money saved because you won’t be heading to the professional groomer as often!

How does it work?

This tool is way better than your typical dog’s brush.  It gets underneath to the undercoat.  They were super smart and designed it to have a release button, which, when pressed, releases all the fur you just brushed off your dog, so you have a clean tool to keep going.  I was amazed when I checked out a video (which you can see below ) and saw  how much loose fur they removed from that pooch!  It was like you could create a whole new dog!  You definitely don’t get that with just brushing alone.

But I don’t have a long haired dog.

Not to worry!  The people who created the FURminator understand that not all dogs are created equal, and neither is their fur.  You have choices when it comes to the right tool for you and your dog.  The Long Hair deShedding Edge is designed for dogs with fur that is more than 2 inches long.  If your dog’s coat is shorter than 2 inches, then you are going to choose the Short Hair deShedding Edge.  Even within those 2 choices, you choose which size is best for your size dog; toy, small medium, large and giant.

You aren’t going to break the bank with this grooming tool either.  Check out their website www.furminator.com and find the right tool for your furry friend.  In my opinion, it is definitely worth the money to limit the amount of shedding and grooming visits I have to make!
