Your family has adopted a precious puppy and now it is time to start thinking about Where To Find The Best Puppy Training Classes.  Caring for a dog requires some training for both owner and pet.  This is especially important with some breeds where chewing, jumping and barking can be a problem.  We are going to give you some great places to start looking in your area for the best puppy training classes for you and your family.

WHERE TO FIND THE BEST PUPPY TRAINING CLASSES

Ask Your Veterinarian: When you take your puppy in to be spayed or neutered and to get its vaccinations, check with your veterinarian to see if they have great suggestions for you.  They will see the most number of puppies coming in and out of their clinic, so they will likely have heard good recommendations from clients they can refer you to.

Ask Your Breeder: While we recommend that you adopt a dog instead of buying from a breeder, you may still find that giving a local breeder a call will help you locate a great trainer.  Breeders also often participate in dog shows where training is necessary.  This is a great choice if you want high quality training for your puppy.

Ask Your Local Humane Society: While most human society and animal shelters deal mostly with adoption of animals, you may find that they have contacts with veterinarians, trainers and more in your community.  If you adopt from the humane society, you can ask them before you bring your puppy home with you.

Ask Your Friends: Nothing is better than local word of mouth.  Asking friends with dogs who they used for training is a great direction to go.  Not only will they be able to tell you the good people to go to, they can tell you the local trainer you might want to avoid.  This, as in most cases can be the most important place to go for referral to a quality trainer.

Choosing a great trainer to take your puppy to is highly important. Puppy training classes will help you understand your pet better, and they will prevent potential problems with behavior later on.  Not only will it start you off on solid footing as the authority over your puppy, it may teach you more about the breed or dog itself that you need to know.  Invest the time and money into proper puppy training classes that will help you build a quality healthy relationship between your new dog and your family.
