Dahlia is also pretty and one of my favorite flowers. Although the Black Dahlia that inspired it’s inclusion on our list is kind of a creepy story!
When you’re deciding which of these black dog names to go with, remember the basic rules of naming a dog:
- Choose something short (or something that can be shortened to a name used during training).
- Go with a strong first consonant (like Kala or Flint).
- If you use a vowel, make sure it’s followed by a strong consonant. For example, Angus or Artemis.
- Make sure you’re comfortable saying it in public! All of our names are dog-park-appropriate.
Finally, make sure you choose a name that you’ll love for years to come, because hopefully you’ll have well over a decade with your pup!
