Want to help homeless dogs and get your own pooch squeaky clean at the same time? The Bathe to Save Tour will help you do both! Kids often come up with the best ideas for helping animals in need. Take 11-year-old Austin Amos, for example. When he found out that only one out of 10 dogs in shelters find forever homes and 1.2 million dogs are killed in U.S. shelters every year, he had to do something about it. He talked to his dad Anthony, founder of HydroDog, and along with help from the rest of his family, they created the Bathe to Save Tour!

The Bathe to Save Tour has officially hit the road, traveling throughout the US for the next 18 months. It will visit all 50 states and over 150 cities. The goal: wash 25,000+ dogs and raise $1 million, which will be donated to animal rescue groups and organizations all over the country.
“We purchased and moved into a 40ft motor coach and will be travelling the country to make a difference in the lives of our four-legged friends,” Anthony Amos, founder of the Bathe to Save Tour, said. “No dogs or any other animals should be in shelters. We believe they can all be saved.”
That motor home tows Bubbles, the big blue bone-shaped mobile pet grooming unit. The mobile home itself is wrapped in the Bathe to Save logo, along with other corporate sponsors, so keep an eye out for it in your town! The HydroDog Mobile Pet Grooming officially adopted out their mobile grooming unit to the tour. They also got other great sponsors on board, like John Paul Pet, founded by John Paul DeJoria who is the co-founder of the Paul Mitchell line of hair products, and Riley’s Organic Dog Treats. Celebrity endorsements include Harrison Forbes, celebrity pet expert; and Kevin Harrington, who appeared on early seasons of the hit show Shark Tank.
The Bathe to Save Tour will traveling through the middle of 2017, and all proceeds are donated to animal rescue organizations. For more information on how you can get involved, visit Bathe to Save. Check them out on Facebook and Twitter to keep up with news!
I think this is such a fun and fabulous way to help save shelter dogs, don’t you? I absolutely love the message that Austin is sending to other kids, too. You’re never too young to make a big difference!
Will you be watching out for the giant blue bone in your area? Tell us in the comments if you’ve already seen it!
