As you may know, I have two dogs: Mocha and Freya. Mocha, our newest dog, is a lab/greyhound/mystery mix. You would think that the lab/greyhound part of her would make her pretty high-energy, but whatever that mystery part is must be a pretty laid-back dog because she’s just about the most chilled pup I’ve ever had.

Freya on the other hand, is about as high-energy as they come!
Poor Mocha can’t keep up!

When Freya runs the yard every night chasing her “dot” (the laser pointer), Mocha tries to chase her. She makes it halfway before Freya is already turning around and darting back across the yard.
To be fair, Mocha is a smaller dog with shorter legs. Freya can (and does) leap over Mocha in a single bound. Mocha definitely needs all the raw energy she can get to play with “sissy!”

I grabbed a bag of the Small Breed for Mocha (I also got the Original for Freya, which I shared about on Pretty Opinionated last week).
Looking at Mocha, I bet you’re thinking “hey, she’s not a small breed dog!” True. She’s more of a medium-sized dog, but she eats like a little bird. I’ve never had a dog that eats so slowly and daintily! Freya wolfs down her food, but Mocha actually likes to taste it. The smaller bites in Small Breed food just work better for her.
I love the Wellness CORE RawRev isn’t a straight-up raw food. As much as I want to go raw at some point, I don’t feel like I’m ready to make that leap quite yet. I feel more comfortable knowing that they’re getting delicious and energizing raw bites mixed into the high-quality kibble that I’ve come to expect from Wellness.
I also love that RawRev is packed with all the nutrients Mocha needs to support strong joints, like Glucosamine and Chondroitin. She’s still a baby, but since we don’t know her exact breed, we have no idea if she’s prone to issues like hip dysplasia. It never hurts to set the groundwork early for strong joints down the road.
